What is IP whitelisting?
To secure your account, we use IP address whitelisting technology that flags new connections made to your account from a new location. This means that withdrawal requests can only be submitted when the IP address is included in the IP whitelisting list which can be accessed from the Security menu.
How to verify or whitelist a new IP?
If a new withdrawal is attempted and the system identifies that the IP address is in a new location, the page will immediately be redirected to IP Whitelisting which lists the current verified IP addresses. You must verify the new IP before you can proceed with the withdrawal request. To verify or whitelist the new IP, follow these steps:
- Log into Your Account: Begin by signing into your coinpass account using your usual credentials.
-
Access Security Settings & IP Whitelisting:
- Click on the Account Profile Icon on the top right corner.
- From the dropdown, click on Security.
- On the IP Whitelisting page, click on Send verification link.
- You’ll receive a verification email on your registered email address.
- Check Your Email: Access your email inbox and look for an email with the subject IP Address Verification.
-
Verify Your IP Address:
- Open the email and click on Verify Now button to confirm your new IP address.
-
You'll be redirected back to your account page.
-
Refresh IP Whitelisting Settings (If Needed):
- If you're not automatically redirected, return to the IP whitelisting page and refresh the page.
- The new IP should now be listed in the list of IP addresses.
-
Check for Confirmation Email:
- You may receive a second email confirming that the new IP address has been successfully whitelisted.
-
This serves as a record and lets you know the process is complete.
Important Notes:
If you receive one of these emails and do not recognize this action, please contact us immediately and reset your password as your account might be compromised.
Additional Tips:
- Check Spam Folder: If you don't see the verification email in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder.
- Multiple IPs: If you need to whitelist multiple IP addresses, repeat this process for each one.
- Why Whitelist? Whitelisting enhances security by only allowing access from trusted IP addresses, preventing unauthorized login attempts.
